About

At the end of 2005 there was a group of about ten individuals who were extremely passionate about the sport of tennis and had a desire to make it a competitive club sport on the University of Wisconsin campus. After several months, the club team became approved and since then has been a thriving sport on campus.

UW Club Tennis is dedicated to providing students with an opportunity to play tennis in a competitive environment. Our focus is on building friendships, competing on a national level and providing an enriching experience.

UW Club Tennis is composed of two teams, Traveling and Recreational. The Traveling Team is composed of players who played competitive Varsity high school tennis and USTA tournaments as juniors. The Rec Team, although less competitive, is still made up of strong high school tennis players. The Traveling Team practices twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, the Rec Team only on Tuesdays. From Sept. to Oct. practices are held at the Lakeshore Courts by Steenbock Library and from October to April at Nielsen Tennis Center by the UW Hospital.

There is no sign up for tryouts, please just show up to the courts and we will get your contact information then.

Combined tryouts are at the beginning of both the Fall and Spring semesters. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact the current President, Matt Ship, at ship@wisc.edu.
